Ground Balls

Ground balls are the third stat that is tracked for players, and are an important part of the game.

In this video MLL player Mikey Powell explains how to pick up a ground ball. Please pay attention to the following.

  • Foot placement is protecting the ball.
  • The stick is almost level with the ground (Two Butts Low)
  • Get your body low.
    Protect the stick with your body during the scoop.
  • Move the stick near your head after the scoop. ("Listen" to the ball.)
